Powering VR Adventures with Sodium Batteries and the PHEV Mitsubishi Outlander: A Winning Combination

Powering VR Adventures with Sodium Batteries and the PHEV Mitsubishi Outlander: A Winning Combination

As we are shifting from VR arcade to mobile VR model we realized how much engagement and fun we can bring to our customers if we take the attraction to them. To be at the forefront of mobile entertainment technology, VR attraction like our Liverpool rollercoaster need to be able to operate in various circumstances. For businesses like ours, which take the excitement of VR rollercoasters on the road, reliable power solutions are essential. That’s why we turned to Sodium Energy’s innovative sodium-ion batteries to power our VR rollercoaster trailer—and the results have been fantastic.

Sodium batteries from www.sodiumenergy.co.uk  provide a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to lithium batteries. With the demands of a VR setup, from powering the VR headsets to maintaining operational electronics in the trailer, we needed a reliable and long-lasting energy source. Sodium-ion batteries check all those boxes. Not only are they less dependent on rare materials, but they also offer enhanced safety, fast charging, and consistent performance.

But what makes this system even more exciting is how seamlessly it integrates with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. This hybrid electric vehicle already has a strong reputation for energy efficiency and sustainability, but when paired with the sodium-ion battery powering the VR trailer, it creates a mobile entertainment unit with virtually no downtime.

How It Works:

1. Sodium Battery-Powered Trailer: The trailer, equipped with our VR rollercoaster attraction, runs smoothly for up to three hours using just the sodium-ion battery from Sodium Energy. During this time, the battery powers all the equipment, including the VR headsets, sound systems, and onboard technology.

2. Top-Up Power from the Outlander: Once the three hours are up, instead of packing up or waiting for a charging station, we simply top up the trailer’s sodium battery from the Outlander PHEV. This process taps into the car’s main traction battery, which can charge the sodium-ion battery, ensuring we stay operational without needing to hunt for an external power source. And after 6-8 hours when cars main battery gets depleted, the car can recharge it using a petrol engine. Obviously this very unlikely to happen as our work days are rarely longer than 10 hours, and also least desirable option   due to particulates and pollution it creates – as our patrons health is our upmost priority we work on avoiding this at all costs. That’s why our system allows us to switch to mains power if that becomes available at any time.

3. Sustainability and Flexibility: The combination of Sodium Energy’s batteries and the Mitsubishi Outlander makes the system highly adaptable and eco-friendly. Not only do we reduce our reliance on external power grids, but this solution also cuts down on emissions, ensuring our VR experience is as green as it is thrilling.

The sodium battery and Outlander PHEV partnership means we can offer uninterrupted entertainment for hours on end, even in remote areas. Whether at festivals, events, or pop-up locations, we’re able to deliver immersive VR rollercoaster experiences without worrying about power shortages.

Conclusion:

For anyone looking to power a mobile attraction or trailer-based event, Sodium Energy’s sodium-ion batteries paired with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV offer a perfect solution. This combination not only keeps things running smoothly but also aligns with the growing demand for more sustainable energy solutions in the entertainment industry.

With this cutting-edge technology in place, we’re pushing the limits of where we can take VR, making sure we deliver adrenaline-pumping experiences wherever the road takes us!
